Why the East Sac Garden Tour Is Sacramento’s Must-Do Mother’s Day Event
Mother’s Day Weekend in Sacramento wouldn’t be complete without the East Sacramento Garden Tour, a neighborhood tradition that’s been blooming for years. On May 10 and 11, 2025, David Lubin Elementary will once again open the gates to some of East Sac’s most breathtaking gardens, all in the name of supporting our kids’ education. This self-guided walking tour isn’t just a fundraiser—it’s a love letter to the community, a chance to slow down, and a perfect way to celebrate the moms (and mom-figures) in our lives.
Picture this: You’re wandering through East Sacramento’s tree-lined streets, popping into private gardens that feel like secret worlds. Each stop reveals a new story—of meticulous care, creative design, and the quiet magic of nature. It’s a family-friendly event, too—kids are welcome, and their curiosity only adds to the joy of the day. Back at the school, the on-campus festivities bring even more to explore: three student-tended gardens, a Boutique packed with local artisans, and a Café serving up goodies from the David Lubin crew.
Want to make it an extra-special outing? Head to the Sutter Lawn Tennis Club for the Wine Garden, where you’ll find delightful surprises waiting at this historic East Sac gem. Whether you’re sipping a glass of wine, browsing handmade treasures, or arranging a bouquet at the student-led Bouquet Bar, you’ll feel the heart of this community shining through.
What makes the East Sac Garden Tour so special is how it weaves together the best parts of our neighborhood: beauty, generosity, and connection. All proceeds fund vital programs like Art, Music, and STEAM for David Lubin’s 500+ students, ensuring that our kids grow just as vibrantly as the gardens we’ll be admiring. Tickets are available online or at the event, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this blooming tradition!
