Your Stanford Mansion Halloween Tour Playbook: From Reservation to Exit

A little planning turns the Stanford Mansion Halloween Ball: Mystery Tour into a graceful half hour.

1) Reserve your slot
Go to Reserve California, open the Activities tab, and search Leland Stanford Mansion Halloween Tours. Pick your date, time, and party size. You will get a confirmation that lists arrival instructions. Space is limited, so secure your spot early. Walk-ups may be allowed if capacity permits.

2) Choose your vibe
• Daytime: brighter rooms and a gentle tone, good for younger guests
• Afternoon: warm light and balanced atmosphere
• Evening: deeper shadows and a more immersive mood
Note that Oct 27–29 operate daytime only.

3) Dress and pack
Costumes are welcome. Choose shoes that can handle stairs and quiet floors. Bring nothing larger than a small bag since no photography or video is permitted and hands-free touring keeps the group flowing.

4) Arrival rhythm
Arrive 10 minutes early to check in. Late arrivals may be moved to a later time only if space allows. You will join a guided group. Please keep voices low to preserve the experience for everyone.

5) During the tour
Follow staff instructions, remain on marked paths, and respect roped-off areas. The narration highlights architecture, period decor, and seasonal lore. Younger guests who are sensitive to spooky themes may prefer a daylight slot.

6) After the tour
Step outside for a final look at the façade and share your impressions. If you wore a costume, this is a good moment for a quick portrait off-site since photos are not allowed inside.
